This page provides information about how to use ACE, and provides some background on how ACE evaluates pages.

How to use ACE

To use ACE, click on the Test Site link. On the test page, enter the URL of the page you wish to test and click the button. ACE will visit the web site and will evaluate it for credibility signals. ACE may take a few moments to return its results, so please be patient.

How does ACE work?

When you enter a web address into ACE, the ACE program visits the address and examines the page. ACE examines the page itself, the pages linked to by that page, and the page's web server. ACE uses a set of credibility criteria based on web credibility research to produce a score and a report for that page.

Criteria used by ACE

Criteria go here. These should be fairly detailed descriptions, describing where the guidelines come from and how guidelines map to numeric scores.
